Thryve

Thryve is a specialist tech recruitment partner, placing permanent and contract talent across software engineering, cloud, cyber and AI for high-growth companies and scale-ups throughout the DACH region. Since 2014 they’ve scaled tech teams for more than 650 businesses and placed close to 2,000 professionals across Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Founded in the UK and run from London and Berlin, they take their cue from the German engineering principles their market runs on.

The Brief

Thryve’s brand had grown functional but flat: an essentially all-black identity that lacked cohesion across their materials, and a logo that needed better balance and cleaner black-and-white variations to work everywhere it appeared. They wanted the brand elevated rather than replaced. Our mission was to keep what already worked and build a visual system that brought consistency and life to everything they produce.

Our Actions

Rather than start over, we refined what Thryve already owned, keeping the logo and adjusting it for balance, then drawing out a set of black-and-white variations so it holds up at every size and in every placement. Around it we built a visual system to carry the colour the brand was missing: abstract, colourful shapes that frame photography and sit behind the plain black layouts, giving otherwise sparse materials rhythm and cohesion wherever the brand appears.

The Results

A refreshed identity and a visual system that lift Thryve’s brand without losing what made it theirs.

They now have a logo that works cleanly wherever it lands – balanced, and with black-and-white variations for the placements the old mark struggled with. They have a colour system the brand previously lacked, carried through abstract shapes that frame their photography and fill the backgrounds of an otherwise plain black palette. And they have one coherent look across their materials, so every touchpoint reads as Thryve rather than each piece being built from scratch.
